Each year, the Arkansas Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts (ACNMWA) selects an Arkansas woman student attending an Arkansas university or college to receive a $3,000 stipend to collaborate with a mentor working in an Arkansas museum, gallery or arts institution.

National Museum of Women in the Arts reopens after major renovation

The National Museum of Women in the Arts— the world’s first major museum solely dedicated to championing women artists— reopened on October 21, 2023, after a two-year renovation, revealing a transformed building, powerful exhibitions and engaging public programs. NMWA reimagined its historic home at 1250 New York Avenue in Washington, D.C., to offer flexible exhibition spaces for immersive exhibitions, a versatile studio/classroom area and improved accessibility for visitors.

NMWA Art Chat @ Five: Earth Day

The National Museum of Women in the Arts invite you to jump-start your weekend with art every other Friday! Join NMWA educators for informal art chats about selected artworks from the museum’s collection. Consider a new sampling of artworks during each session. You can even enjoy your favorite happy hour drink or snack during the chat.

UA-Fort Smith hosts Arkansas Women to Watch 2023: New Worlds

The University of Arkansas-Fort Smith Gallery of Art and Design will host the Arkansas Women to Watch 2023: New Worlds exhibition from January 17 though March 3, 2023. The opening reception will be held on Friday, January 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Gallery of Art and Design, 535 N. Waldron Rd., in Fort Smith.
