Dolores Justus
I find the designs in nature amazing in their complexity and beauty–from the smallest leaf, to the slope of a hillside, or the way light transforms whatever it touches. That delight often serves as a starting point from which my own work begins. Despite all the variety in nature, there are essential elements in it and in us all, that we respond to. Those universal, underlying truths are what I seek to communicate in my own work. My paintings are loosely rendered, blurring the line between abstraction and representation, allowing the space to create something new in the process.
