Robin Miller-Bookhout
As a native Arkansas artist, I have been fortunate to develop my personal artwork and continually grow as an artist, art educator, and patron of the arts. My lifelong passion and joie de vivre is painting, creating artworks, and of course, teaching and sharing my knowledge of the arts with students as well as my colleagues.
As a practicing artist, I am partial to watercolors, my first love because of its spontaneity and free spirit, although I also enjoy working with oil pastels and other visual art media. My style and technique are correlated to the type of art medium I am using, but I am always open and flexible to experimenting and solving artistic problems. I feel strongly that good composition, through the use and understanding of the elements and principles of art are important in creating successful works of art.
As a contemporary landscape artist, the themes in my artwork resonate of God’s creations, respect for nature, art of the heart and soul, as well as, still-life and preservation of historic architecture.
I am continually a seeker of art opportunities, and enjoy plein air studies, art adventures, traveling and taking photographs of places I visit which later are utilized in my studio. These opportunities have driven my art and myself through this wonderful adventure.
