The excitement of an artist’s studio visit is unique. Seeing the materials, the tools and tables, peeping at bulletin boards and to-do lists…that inside look with the artist as tour guide makes the finished work more impressive and intriguing.

The pandemic inspired artists to create video studio tours, so ACNMWA commissioned a helpful guide for artists interested in making a virtual tour. Please enjoy and use this short “Do It Yourself Studio Tour” video, created by outstanding tour guide and ceramic artist Barbara Satterfield. The video walks you through the simple basics you need to film your own studio tour. There’s even a set of PDF reminders you can download below.

This resource can be shared widely and furthers our mission of promoting the women artists of Arkansas through education and public programs. Virtual studio tours take viewers behind the scenes of artists’ studio practice, with insights into their processes, inspirations and artwork.
