A mark on a surface is profound, expressive, challenging, inspirational and satisfying to me. Using pastels, oils, acrylics and mixed media, I have been making marks all of my life. Responding to the subject matter and the mediums, and then communicating that to my audience has been and will continue to be an integral part of my existence. I'm interested in portraying familiar places, people and objects that have meaning for me such as a sense of place or space, an emotion, a mood or a moment in time.
