I'm Flora Saldivar, a Mexican-American abstract painter based in Northwest Arkansas. My heritage inspires art that explores beauty in chaos with vibrant colors and organic materials.

My practice focuses on developing new techniques. I've refined the Verso-Infundo method, using both sides of the canvas to create "ghost layers" for intriguing depth, while also advancing the soak-stain technique. I develop custom gouache blends in my Fayetteville studio, protecting the raw canvas while achieving vibrant, fluid application. My "bleeding colors" technique showcases color exploration, where a dominant hue subtly sheds another. I exclusively use raw canvas for its unique texture. My intuitive process balances a "happened quality" (as Frankenthaler called it) with intentional compositions, capturing emotions through color, movement, and texture.

I'm represented by MIXD Gallery, and my work is in permanent collections including OZ Art NWA. I'm also part of Women of the Ozarks.
