Arkansas Women to Watch 2026: Words Become Matter kicked off the first leg of its tour in Little Rock, at the CALS Roberts Library of Arkansas History and Art Underground Gallery. We had a wonderful turnout for our opening night, surrounded by fellow board members, arts advocates, and so many supporters who help make our work possible.
One of the highlights of the evening was the zine-making community project, which coincided with our opening night. It drew a steady stream of participants of all ages - families, students, longtime art lovers, and curious first-timers - all creating, experimenting, and adding their own voice to the experience.
We are looking forward to the opening on May 1st at the National Cold War Museum, NCWC, at the Blytheville Air Force Base, BAFB, exhibition space under the leadership of Joseph Alley, Exhibition Manager and Coordinator. The opportunity to showcase the Women to Watch program at the NCWC is made possible by Mary Gay Shipley, Chair of the Board of Directors for the NCWC, and our ACNMWA exhibition committee co-chairs MaryRoss Taylor and Gay Bechtelhiemer.
On view from May 1 through June 13, the exhibition will be open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
We encourage you to mark your calendars and join us in celebrating this next stop of the tour, featuring work by K. Nelson Harper of Fort Smith, Acadia Kandora of Fayetteville, and Rebecca Resinski of Conway.
